About Me

Dr. Lise Walker joined City of Hope in July 2022. As a physician for the High-Risk Breast Clinic at City of Hope Phoenix and North Phoenix Outpatient Care Center, she helps patients at high risk for breast cancer make the lifestyle changes that may help decrease their risk, working with her team to provide breast cancer screening and risk-reduction and prevention strategies.

Dr. Walker brings to City of Hope more than three decades of experience working with breast cancer patients, including serving as the head of an Arizona high-risk breast clinic. She also has experience as a general surgeon, including 11 years as a surgeon in the U.S. Army.

“Despite advantages in genetic testing and recognized importance within the medical community of patients knowing their family history, many people still aren’t aware of the risk factors for developing breast cancer,” says Dr. Walker. “My goal is to identify those at high risk and work with them to reduce that risk.

“I also have an interest in survivorship strategies that help women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer lead healthier lives and decrease their risk of recurrence,” she adds. “I was drawn to City of Hope because of its innovative and comprehensive treatment options for patients diagnosed with cancer.”

After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, she earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then went on to complete an internship and residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Walker enjoys spending time with her two adult children and granddaughter, as well as reading and playing tennis.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
