About Me

Aditya Shreenivas, M.D., is an assistant professor of medical oncology and therapeutics research at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. Board-certified in hematology and oncology, Dr. Shreenivas brings deep clinical expertise and a strong research background to a role that focuses on advancing the field of precision oncology with a focus on gastrointestinal and head and neck cancers. His personalized, research-informed approach aims to improve treatment outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients at City of Hope and beyond.

Inspired by his family’s legacy in the field of medicine, from his grandfather—who founded India’s Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology—to his mother, who is a distinguished obstetrician, Dr. Shreenivas brings a compassionate approach to his work. He earned his medical degree at JSS Medical School in Mysuru, India, then took on a residency in internal medicine at Bronx-Lebanon Medical Center in Bronx, New York, and a hematology-oncology fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he also completed a master’s degree in clinical research.

Before joining City of Hope, Dr. Shreenivas served as an assistant professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he led care for patients with gastrointestinal and head and neck cancers. His research has received grant support from NRG Oncology, and he has served as principal investigator on both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials focused on experimental therapeutics and translational breakthroughs.

Now affiliated with City of Hope’s Experimental Therapeutics and Early Drug Development Program, Dr. Shreenivas continues to pioneer novel strategies for cancer treatment. He is particularly interested in vertical research models—where insights from the lab are rapidly translated into therapies at the bedside—and has published widely in leading journals such as CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians, JCO Precision Oncology, the European Journal of Cancer, and Blood.

Patient reviews
The patient ratings and comments on this page are obtained from an external Press Ganey® outpatient survey provided to all eligible City of Hope patients within one to two weeks of their treatment occurrence. Raw data from the answers to the survey questions about our physicians are calculated by Press Ganey into a one- to five- star rating. In the spirit of transparency, all patient comments are posted as written by the patient, whether they are positive or negative. We only exclude comments if they are deemed to be slanderous or libelous, contain profanity or vulgar language, or do not relate to the patient's experience with the doctor involved. As a result, the comments are the views and opinions of the patients surveyed and are not endorsed by, and may not necessarily reflect the opinion of, City of Hope.
