About Me

Sunhee Williams completed a two-year naturopathic residency at City of Hope Chicago, in October 2011 before becoming a naturopathic provider at the hospital. Williams, who is also a licensed acupuncturist, says the core values of City of Hope resonated with her and drew her to the organization.

"Patients know that we have their best interest at heart," she notes. "It is this commitment, ‘constantly striving for the excellence in quality of care,’ that continues to inspire everyone in our community.”

Williams says of the unique model of care at City of Hope, “The integrated teams of clinicians and providers work together to provide current, evidenced-informed treatment options for patients.”

Williams received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a concentration in microbiology from Methodist University. She also earned a master’s degree in acupuncture and a doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University.

She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a Certified Diplomat of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Williams values the importance of being involved in the community. Before pursuing studies and a career in naturopathic support, she served in the U.S Army, has participated in community service projects assisting new mothers and feeding the homeless, and has worked with non-profit organizations in outreach ministries. The Korean-born naturopathic provider speaks the language fluently and has worked as a medical interpreter.

Williams and her husband have two children. She loves spending time with her family, drawing and singing. In addition, she enjoys the adventure of visiting new places.

Patient reviews
The patient ratings and comments on this page are obtained from an external Press Ganey® outpatient survey provided to all eligible City of Hope patients within one to two weeks of their treatment occurrence. Raw data from the answers to the survey questions about our physicians are calculated by Press Ganey into a one- to five- star rating. In the spirit of transparency, all patient comments are posted as written by the patient, whether they are positive or negative. We only exclude comments if they are deemed to be slanderous or libelous, contain profanity or vulgar language, or do not relate to the patient's experience with the doctor involved. As a result, the comments are the views and opinions of the patients surveyed and are not endorsed by, and may not necessarily reflect the opinion of, City of Hope.
