Yu Liang, M.D., Ph.D., is an assistant clinical professor of pathology who specializes in diagnosing bone and soft tissue diseases, including rare and complex tumors. At City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, he works closely with care teams to help ensure patients receive accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
Dr. Liang earned his medical degree from the Medical Center of Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and received his Ph.D. at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed residencies in pathology at both the University at Buffalo in New York and the University of Cincinnati, where he also served as chief resident. He then continued his advanced training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, completing fellowships in oncologic surgical pathology as well as bone and soft tissue pathology and cancer biomarkers.
Board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Liang has been involved in many research projects and received MD Anderson’s Fellows’ Research Project Award in 2014. He has published widely in his field and has presented his work at international medical conferences.
