Vinod A. Pullarkat, M.D., M.R.C.P., is a hematologist-oncologist and a professor in the Division of Leukemia at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. An expert in acute leukemias, myeloid malignancies and other blood disorders, Dr. Pullarkat treats patient using a wide range of therapies including hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
After completing his internal medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital, Dr. Pullarkat went on to pursue a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, followed by an additional fellowship in bone marrow transplant at City of Hope, where he also served as a clinical instructor. After several years leading USC’s Bone Marrow Transplant Program, he rejoined City of Hope in 2014.
Dr. Pullarkat is board-certified in hematology and brings deep expertise in treating leukemia, bone marrow failure syndromes and autoimmune blood disorders, as well as in overseeing stem cell transplants. His lab research focuses on developing new treatments for leukemia and he has written more than 175 research papers and book chapters in his field.
