About Me

Vanya Jaitly, MD, is an anatomic and clinical Pathologist with subspeciality training in hematopathology. She joined City of Hope Phoenix in June 2023, becoming part of the hospital’s Hematologic Malignancies Program. As a part of a multidisciplinary team of cancer experts, she works to accurately diagnose and classify cancers and provides additional information to guide targeted therapy and predict prognosis. Dr. Jaitly is especially interested in lymphomas, myeloid malignancies and the detection of minimal residual disease, as well as flow cytometry and molecular techniques.

Dr. Jaitly was always interested in medicine and loves learning. “As a pathologist, a major part of my work focuses on oncology, and that’s where I believe I can make the most impact in a patient’s life,” Dr. Jaitly explains. Investigating cancer became her passion and drew her to City of Hope, where she could work in collaboration with expert physicians who focus specifically on treating cancer and provide outstanding patient care.

Dr. Jaitly earned her medical degree in India and continued advanced training in the United States at several prestigious institutes, including the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She began her practice as a hematopathologist in the Phoenix area before joining City of Hope.

A member of several professional organizations, Dr. Jaitly has taken on multiple leadership positions in the past, including as Vice Chair of the Digital Contents Subcommittee for the Texas Society of Pathologists. Well-published on several hematopathology as well as surgical pathology topics, Dr. Jaitly has also co-authored several book chapters. Over the years, she’s received numerous awards and honors from organizations like the American Society of Clinical Pathology and the American Association of Neuropathologists.

Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Jaitly loves spending time with her two children and traveling with her family.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
