Tingting Tan, M.D., Ph.D., is a globally respected expert in cancer biology, with a particular focus on the molecular processes that drive tumor growth and the factors contributing to resistance against chemotherapy. Triple board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Tan is a medical oncologist and hematologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte.
Dr. Tan’s research has been published in numerous prestigious scientific and medical journals, including Cancer Cell, The Oncologist and Genes & Development. She earned her medical degree from Peking University Health Science Center in China, then completed her doctorate at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She also completed fellowships at both the University of California, San Francisco’s Cancer Research Institute and Temple University’s Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
Known for her thoughtful and individualized approach to care, Dr. Tan treats each patient as an individual with unique health goals and desires. She strives to treat patients with the same dedication she would offer a family member or loved one. Dr. Tan has been honored with multiple awards over her career, including the Outstanding Graduate Award from Beijing Medical University, the Lou Lehman Hospitalist Award for Excellence and the Gallo Award for Outstanding Cancer Research from the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
