M.D.
Medical Oncologist and Hematologist
Patients often recognize Thomas P. Joseph, M.D., not only for his medical knowledge and research experience, but also for his attentive nature. It’s no surprise that when asked about his influences, Dr. Joseph points to a mentor known for compassion and a strong bedside manner — qualities he strives to bring to every patient interaction at City of Hope® Santa Clarita.
Originally educated in India, Dr. Joseph discovered his passion for hematology while training at the Samuel S. Stratton Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albany, New York. He went on to complete a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
For over a decade, Dr. Joseph has cared for patients in the Valencia and Mission Hills communities, serving in both private practice and at Henry Mayo Newhall Medical Center. He describes joining City of Hope as a natural decision, drawn by its reputation as a pioneer in cancer research and treatment. “It was an automatic choice,” he says, reflecting on the move to bring his practice and patients to a place known for innovation and compassion.
