Pathologist
Sue Chang, MD, is a pathologist and the interim chief of the Division of Anatomic Pathology at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte.
After graduating from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Chang earned her medical degree at the New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. She then completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at UCLA Health in Los Angeles, where she served as both chief resident and resident informaticist. Dr. Chang then pursued advanced fellowship training in cytopathology at UCLA Health and surgical pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, cytopathology and clinical informatics, Dr. Chang has received numerous honors and awards, published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and presented nationally on topics within her field. Her professional interests include thyroid pathology and pathology informatics. She is actively involved with the College of American Pathologists, currently serving as chair of the Professional and Community Engagement Committee.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chang enjoys collecting rare and vintage medical books, reading historical fiction, singing karaoke and tending to her home garden.
