Radiation oncologist Stephanie Yoon, M.D., treats breast cancer as well as tumors in the brain and spine at City of Hope® Duarte Cancer Center. She chose to focus on these areas because they affect how people think, feel and experience the world — the very things that make each person unique. For Dr. Yoon, being a doctor is more than a career; it’s a way to help people live fuller, more meaningful lives. She feels honored to care for patients during such a personal and vulnerable time.
Dr. Yoon uses advanced radiation techniques to precisely target cancer while protecting healthy tissue and reducing side effects. These include MRI-guided radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), 3D image-guided radiotherapy and high-dose rate brachytherapy. As a researcher, she has published more than a dozen peer-reviewed studies.
Passionate about making medicine more inclusive, Dr. Yoon held leadership roles during her residency at the University of California Los Angeles, including executive chair of the Radiosurgery Society Resident Association and executive board member of the Society for Women in Radiation Oncology.
