Oncological Endocrinologist
Dr. Sasan Fazeli, M.D., is an oncological endocrinologist and the director of the Thyroid and Endocrine Cancer Clinic at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. Dr. Fazeli is deeply committed to bringing innovative medical treatments to as many patients as possible, with the goal of making a positive impact in the lives of people with endocrine cancers.
Dr. Fazeli’s medical training began at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran and continued with a residency in internal medicine at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He later pursued advanced subspecialty training through fellowships in general endocrinology at George Washington University and in oncologic endocrinology at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
A board-certified endocrinologist and internist, Dr. Fazeli also holds certifications in thyroid ultrasound-guided procedures, nodule ablation and systemic treatment for complex endocrine cancers. His dual appointments in both oncology and endocrinology reflect his multidisciplinary approach to treating patients.
Dr. Fazeli focuses on a wide spectrum of endocrine-related conditions, including all types of thyroid cancer, parathyroid and adrenal cancers, hereditary endocrine syndromes, pituitary and adrenal tumors and hormone-related complications from cancer therapies such as immunotherapy. He is particularly interested in leading-edge techniques like thyroid nodule ablation and targeted therapies and he remains actively engaged in research that explores molecular and precision medicine strategies to improve treatment outcomes for patients.
A respected member of organizations such as the International Thyroid Oncology Group, Dr. Fazeli is passionate about integrating innovative care with a compassionate philosophy. For him, supporting patients through their cancer journey is not just a profession, but a mission—one that holds the promise of both personal healing and broader community impact.
