About Me

Oncologist and hematologist Sarah Ali, M.D., was drawn to cancer care by both the complexity of the science and the chance to make a real impact in people’s lives. She’s passionate about advocating for her patients at City of Hope® Mission Hills and is deeply committed to treating each person with the same compassion and respect she would want for her own family. Her approach centers on personalized, empathetic care tailored to each individual’s needs. 

Before joining City of Hope, Dr. Ali cared for patients at several hospitals, including Ventura County Medical Center in California, Valley View Hospital in Colorado and Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, where she also led the Supportive Care Clinic. Her dedication to oncology and patient care earned her Franciscan Health’s patient-nominated Healing Hands Award, as well as a spot on the physician-selected Top Doctors of Indianapolis. 

Outside of work, Dr. Ali finds balance in nature, values time with her family and takes part in integrative wellness-focused group activities like meditation and mindfulness retreats. She’s also a proud dog mom, sharing her pup is a daily reminder to live with joy and enthusiasm — something she brings into every patient interaction.

"Dr. Ali is an exceptional human being. She connects with her patients naturally and effortlessly through anecdotes of her experiences in medicines. She has calling seaming and soothing voice. Every three months I have to be checked if my condition progressed to a Myeloma. So I get to the facility full of worry and anxst. It's gotten better in the last three months. But nonetheless still nerve wracking because that cisit could be the first of my last. Then the blood test are good and I go home relieved and think nothing of it until about the last month before my next visit. The movie in my mind starts especially that I am literally at the edge of being diagnosed with Myeloma. But when I get there the staff and the doctor have a loving, caring and gentke way of alleviating my fears and worries. Until the next visit. The staff and doctors actively listen always makes it a point to tell me that I am not alone and they are standing right beside me. That feels really good the industry need more healthcare staff and providers who genuinely demonstrate the very reason they do what they do and continue to emulate the oath they took to care selfless for the sick."
