For Rodina Vatanparast, M.D., medical training began early at King Drew Medical Magnet High School, affiliated with UCLA Medical Center — where she engaged in cancer research in the lab. That early experience inspired her to specialize in hematology-oncology, where she could combine scientific discovery with leading-edge care.
Now part of City of Hope® South Bay, Dr. Vatanparast is proud to offer patients the latest in personalized cancer care within an empowering environment. She believes in working closely with each patient to help them understand their options and make confident, informed decisions about their treatment.
Over her career, Dr. Vatanparast has served as chief medical resident responsible for over 150 internal medicine residents, participated in more than 80 clinical trials and chaired several committees. She’s also published work in top medical journals such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood and the British Medical Journal.
Dr. Vatanparast has been named a “Super Doctor of Los Angeles” multiple times and earned a spot on Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Top Doctor” list in 2021.
