In her role as Director of Hospital Medicine at City of Hope® Cancer Center Phoenix, Robyn Fossey, MD, JD, MBA, oversees clinical care for patients who are admitted to our Arizona hospital. Dr. Fossey is dedicated to ensuring the hospital medicine team provides personalized care for every patient, whether they’re recovering from medical or surgical procedures or require support and care for health concerns related to their cancer diagnosis or treatment.
“My overall goal for each patient is to deliver unparalleled care and treatment and do it with kindness,” Dr. Fossey says. “Not only are our patients ill, but they are fighting a battle. We offer each individual patient our utmost respect and understanding.”
Dr. Fossey earned her medical degree at the Avalon University School of Medicine in Curaçao, then completed a residency in family medicine with a hospitalist focus at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where she served as chief resident. She also completed a cardiovascular research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, focusing on developing tools to use electronic health record-linked data for large-scale genomic research.
In addition, Dr. Fossey holds a law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a master’s in business administration with a focus on health care from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to joining City of Hope, she served as a primary care provider and a hospital medicine specialist.
