“I was drawn to medicine and then to infectious diseases because I wanted to help advance our understanding of HIV and care for those affected,” Dr. Taplitz says.
Throughout her career, Dr. Taplitz has worked closely with patients suffering a wide range of diseases, with her clinical work earning her the honor of being named a "Top Doctor" every year since 2013. She has experience working on infection prevention projects worldwide, having volunteered in clinics in Tijuana, Mexico, and Maputo, Mozambique, and she collaborates with healthcare providers and the public to educate the wide community about infectious diseases. She has also helped develop care guidelines for cancer patients with infections on a local, national and international level.
Dr. Taplitz earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she also completed her residency and fellowship.
