Medical oncologist Rahul Polineni, M.D., cares for patients with a focus that goes beyond just treating cancer — he believes in supporting the whole person. That means paying attention not only to the physical condition, but also to the emotional, social and spiritual needs that often come with it. At City of Hope® Corona, he finds meaning in helping patients during some of life’s most difficult and vulnerable moments, and he values the constant learning that comes with caring for patients facing cancer.
Dr. Polineni joined City of Hope in 2022. Before that, he taught medical students as a clinical assistant professor at UCLA and cared for patients as an attending physician in oncology/hematology at Kern Medical in Bakersfield, California. Earlier in his career, he worked as an academic hospitalist at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut and Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. As a researcher, Dr. Polineni has published numerous peer-reviewed case studies in medical journals.
