Rahul Jandial, M.D., Ph.D., is an associate professor of neurosurgery at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. Dr. Jandial has played a key role within the Division of Neurosurgery since he joined City of Hope in 2009, combining his skills as an expert brain surgeon with his research agenda targeting groundbreaking new treatments for cancer. https://www.cancercenter.com/locations/duarte
In his clinical work, Dr. Jandial performs advanced surgeries for brain and spinal tumors. His research lab focuses on the mechanisms that underpin how cancer spreads to the brain, with the goal of developing better ways to target these tumors. He is a prolific author who has written 10 books and published more than 100 scientific papers on topics ranging from brain surgery and neurology to cancer biology.
Dr. Jandial began his academic journey at the University of California, Berkeley, then went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He also completed a Ph.D. at the University of California, San Diego, where he trained in neurosurgery. His fellowship took place at the University of California, San Francisco, where he also served as a clinical instructor prior to joining City of Hope.
