Pejman Motarjem, M.D., is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who specializes in advanced body imaging. At City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, he uses a variety of imaging tools — including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET)/CT and ultrasound — to help diagnose disease and guide treatment planning. His clinical interests include using MRI to stage rectal and prostate cancers, helping care teams create the most effective treatment approach for each patient.
Dr. Motarjem earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Northridge, and a master’s degree in medical sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, where he also completed his medical doctorate. He then pursued an internal medicine internship at Mount Auburn Hospital, Harvard School of Medicine in Cambridge, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he served as chief resident. He then completed fellowship training in Body and Cross-Sectional Imaging at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore.
Dr. Motarjem has contributed to several medical book chapters and peer-reviewed research articles in his field.
