Nikita Shah, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor of breast surgery at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where she focuses on using the latest in innovative surgical options to treat women diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr. Shah is committed to advocating for each patient and ensuring they have access to the best therapies available.
In her academic work, Dr. Shah has studied a wide range of women’s health topics, including the unique challenges faced by elderly breast cancer patients and treatment approaches for women who are diagnosed with the disease during pregnancy. Her professional journey has been shaped by the core values instilled in her during her early life, including a dedication to providing compassionate care to every patient, no matter their background.
Dr. Shah earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She completed her general surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and then pursued specialized training through a breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Shah is fluent in both English and Gujarati. She is proud to serve patients in her home state as a physician at City of Hope, an institution she admires for its unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care and to advancing the future of oncology.
