About Me

Nairi Berner, M.D., M.S., is an endocrinologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. Dr. Berner is dedicated to building relationships with her patients that are founded on mutual trust and collaboration, with the goal of helping those with diabetes and pituitary disorders grow stronger, improve their wellbeing and regain a sense of hope as they transition into recovery. 

Dr. Berner earned her medical degree at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, where she was also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She went on to complete her internal medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, serving an additional year as chief resident. She completed her training with a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of California (UC), Irvine, where she also earned a master’s degree in biomedical and translational sciences. 

Dr. Berner joined City of Hope in 2022, bringing with her a strong background in both clinical care and academic medicine. Prior to this, she served in positions at Saddleback Medical Group, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Yale New Haven Hospital and as assistant clinical professor of endocrinology at UC Irvine. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Berner enjoys spending quality time with her family.
