Michael Dittmar, M.D., is an internal medicine doctor who feels grateful every day for the chance to use his love of science and medicine to improve the lives of patients and their families at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte.
Dr. Dittmar enjoys caring for patients with complex conditions, looking at the whole body — from head to toe — to find the optimal path to healing. Serving as a primary physician, he values teamwork and believes strong communication is key to high-quality care.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Los Angeles County+University of Southern California Medical Center, where he was named “Intern of the Year” and received the Gold Humanism Honor Society Award.
Dr. Dittmar grew up near City of Hope and was inspired by its reputation for helping patients through life’s toughest challenges. His grandparents supported City of Hope’s mission, and he is proud to continue their legacy as part of its medical team.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, cooking for loved ones, playing basketball and exploring the diverse food scene in Los Angeles.
