Maria C.B. de Leon, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor of gynecologic oncology in City of Hope’s® Department of Surgery. She sees patients at City of Hope’s clinics in Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita and Mission Hills community sites, ensuring that women diagnosed with cancer receive specialized cancer care closer to home.
Dr. de Leon earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Davis, then went on to receive her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, where she received recognition for excellence in laparoscopic surgery. Following her residency, she completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Indiana University in Bloomington.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. de Leon is actively involved in several professional organizations, including serving on the Statistics Subcommittee of the Gynecologic Oncology Fellow Research Network and being a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has received several awards, including Indiana University’s Simon Cancer Travel Award.
Fluent in Spanish, Tagalog, and Ilocano, Dr. de Leon is committed to delivering compassionate, care to the diverse communities she serves.
