About Me

Manana Elia, M.D., is a medical oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where she focuses on diagnosing and treating breast cancer with compassion and expertise. Dr. Elia is dedicated to helping each patient achieve the best possible results while minimizing the impact that treatment has on their quality of life. 

Dr. Elia joined City of Hope in 2023, bringing with her more than two decades of experience caring for patients with cancer including roles at the Kansas City Cancer Center and the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she earned two awards for her work as leading clinical trials in the local community. 

When she’s not working with patients, Dr. Elia enjoys reading, playing the piano and traveling to new places.

"Dr. Elia seems very rushed. [...] I'm sure Dr. Elia is a good doctor but I only see her for 5 minutes tops. I don't feel confident that my concerns are heard when the appointment is that rushed. I've had ongoing concerns about feeling unwell for quite a while. I left this visit with no clear answer other than it " doesn't seem to be cancer related" and a prescription for [...], which leads me to believe that the take home message is this is just anxiety. It's not. I have anxiety and these episodes are not anxiety."
