Luke Chen, M.D., is a medical oncologist and hematologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where he works daily to help patients fight a wide range of cancer types and manage their quality of life. Inspired daily by their strength and resilience, Dr. Chen encourages his patients to stay hopeful, reminding them that today’s cancer care options include many effective and well-tolerated treatments.
Dr. Chen received his medical degree from the University of California (UC), San Diego, then completed his internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at UC Irvine. Over the years, he has taken part in research aimed at advancing treatment for prostate cancer and other serious diseases and has published educational studies on rare forms of tuberculosis, some of which are used in an academic setting at UC San Diego.
When he's not seeing patients or working on research, Dr. Chen enjoys relaxing in the garden and spending time with his wife and two sons. He is fluent in Mandarin.
