About Me

Leonardo Farol, M.D., is a board-certified hematologist with advanced training in bone marrow transplants. He is part of the City of Hope®/Kaiser Bone Marrow Transplantation Team, where he helps patients receive lifesaving treatment with expertise and compassion.

Dr. Farol studied medicine at the University of California, Irvine, and completed his training in internal medicine in Evanston, Illinois. He then went on to New York University for a fellowship in hematology and oncology, followed by specialized training in bone marrow transplantation at City of Hope.

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Farol is grateful to return home after years of medical training across the country. He values building trust with patients and believes open communication is key to quality care. His goal is to treat each patient with the same care and respect he would give his own family.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Farol enjoys staying active through daily CrossFit workouts, which help him manage stress and maintain both physical and mental strength.

Patient reviews
The patient ratings and comments on this page are obtained from an external Press Ganey® outpatient survey provided to all eligible City of Hope patients within one to two weeks of their treatment occurrence. Raw data from the answers to the survey questions about our physicians are calculated by Press Ganey into a one- to five- star rating. In the spirit of transparency, all patient comments are posted as written by the patient, whether they are positive or negative. We only exclude comments if they are deemed to be slanderous or libelous, contain profanity or vulgar language, or do not relate to the patient's experience with the doctor involved. As a result, the comments are the views and opinions of the patients surveyed and are not endorsed by, and may not necessarily reflect the opinion of, City of Hope.
