Lawrence D. Wagman, M.D., is a surgical oncologist at City of Hope® Upland and the regional medical director for City of Hope’s six Inland Empire locations in Southern California. His clinical work includes diagnosing and treating stomach, liver, bile duct and pancreas cancer, breast cancer, sarcoma and melanoma.
A physician-scholar with hundreds of publications to his name, Dr. Wagman is consistently listed among “America’s Top Doctors” and is recognized for his expertise in surgical oncology and his compassionate approach to working with patients. He has also held multiple leadership positions
Dr. Wagman earned his medical degree at Columbia University-College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He has decades of experience in his field, including a prior 20-year stint at City of Hope, where he served as chair of the Division of Surgery and director of the Department of General Oncologic Surgery. After leading the new Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, California, Dr. Wagman returned to City of Hope to continue to serve his community of Southern Californians.
