LaNette Smith, MD, is a Breast Surgical Oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Prescott.
Dr. Smith has more than two decades’ experience diagnosing and treating multiple types and stages of breast cancer using innovative, less-invasive surgical techniques, including ultrasound biopsy, surgical lumpectomy and nipple-sparing mastectomy with reconstruction. Prior to joining City of Hope, Dr. Smith held several clinical roles across both Arizona and Oklahoma.
Compassion, clinical excellence and a personalized approach to care are central to Dr. Smith’s clinical practice. A member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Smith has advanced training in techniques such as stereotactic and breast ultrasound and image-guided breast biopsy. She has presented on her work at conferences across the United States and has multiple peer-reviewed publications to her name.
After earning her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa, Dr. Smith stayed to complete a general surgery residency. She then went on to pursue a fellowship in breast surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs, tending to her chickens and growing flowers in her garden.
