About Me

A Nurse Practitioner at City of Hope Phoenix, Krista Gomez serves patients in the hospital’s gastroenterology department. She joined City of Hope in September 2019 and works on a multidisciplinary team that provides care and treatment to patients with gastroenterology-related cancers and disease.

Gomez works with patients from the beginning to the end of their treatment, collaborating with a team of doctors and clinicians to offer treatment and supportive services in delivering whole-person care. Gomez is especially interested in research on new approaches in cancer treatment. “I would like to continue to expand on research and innovations at City of Hope in conjunction with my team, to provide additional treatment and therapy options for cancer care,” says Gomez.

“My overall goal is to uphold the Mother Standard® of care and provide patients hope and healing, while delivering compassionate and patient-centered care,” says Gomez. “By getting to know my patients, I can focus on providing care that meets their needs and goals.”

Gomez earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and Master of Science degree in nursing, with a post-graduate certificate as a nurse practitioner from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She is an active member of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of City of Hope, Gomez likes spending time with her friends and family. She and her husband have two children who keep them busy with extracurricular activities. She is an avid tennis player and stays active playing many sports.

Patient reviews
The patient ratings and comments on this page are obtained from an external Press Ganey® outpatient survey provided to all eligible City of Hope patients within one to two weeks of their treatment occurrence. Raw data from the answers to the survey questions about our physicians are calculated by Press Ganey into a one- to five- star rating. In the spirit of transparency, all patient comments are posted as written by the patient, whether they are positive or negative. We only exclude comments if they are deemed to be slanderous or libelous, contain profanity or vulgar language, or do not relate to the patient's experience with the doctor involved. As a result, the comments are the views and opinions of the patients surveyed and are not endorsed by, and may not necessarily reflect the opinion of, City of Hope.
