Karamjeet Singh Sandhu, M.D., is a blood cancer specialist and a member of the Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation team at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte.
Dr. Sandhu earned his medical degree from Tver State Medical Academy in Russia. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, before going on to specialize in hematology-oncology and stem cell transplant through a fellowship at the University of Minnesota in the same city. He later completed advanced training in bone marrow transplantation at City of Hope.
Double board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Sandhu speaks English, Punjabi, Hindi and Russian, helping him connect with a diverse group of patients. His areas of special interest include treating leukemia in older adults, immunotherapy treatment options, managing graft-versus-host disease and studying how the body’s microbiome affects stem cell transplants. He has published several research papers on these topics.
