Radiation Oncologist
As a radiation oncologist at City of Hope® Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, Julius Weng, MD, is committed to delivering advanced, individualized treatment for a wide range of cancer types, with the goal of addressing both the medical and emotional needs of his patients. Dr. Weng values a holistic approach to cancer care and considers it a privilege to help patients during one of the most overwhelming times in their lives.
Dr. Weng completed both his undergraduate and medical education at the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by residency training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. There, he gained extensive experience with innovative radiation techniques, including MRI-guided therapies, adaptive therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy. During his residency, his work was recognized with several awards, including the ASCO Conquer Cancer Quality Care Award and the Thomas Buchholz Legacy of Leadership Award.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Weng conducts research focused on refining radiation therapy to maximize its effectiveness while improving patients’ quality of life. He has led clinical trials exploring the integration of radiation with immunotherapy and the use of MRI guidance for high-risk tumors. His scholarly contributions include book chapters and articles published in respected journals such as JCO Precision Oncology, JAMA Network, and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics.
