About Me

Jennifer S. Woo, M.D., combines her love of science with her passion for caring for people as a pathologist who specializes in transfusion medicine. At City of Hope®, she helps ensure patients receive safe and effective blood transfusions, and she especially values connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. 

Dr. Woo earned her medical degree from Wake Forest University and completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at UCLA, where she also served as chief resident. She then received advanced fellowship training in transfusion medicine and blood banking at University of California, San Francisco. Before joining City of Hope, she held leadership roles at University of California, Irvine, as medical director of special coagulation and associate medical director of transfusion medicine. 

She remains active in national organizations dedicated to advancing pathology and transfusion medicine. A Southern California native, Dr. Woo enjoys traveling, visiting Disneyland and spending time with her family.
