Plastic Surgeon
Jeff Chang, M.D., M.S., chose to become a doctor after seeing how breast cancer affected people close to him. Now, as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, he’s able to offer a variety of surgical options to support patients through their cancer journey and recovery.
Dr. Chang has advanced training in microsurgery — a highly specialized technique that involves repairing or reconnecting tiny blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and nerves, using stitches often finer than a human hair. He primarily focuses on helping patients rebuild their physical appearance after breast cancer surgery and also treats lymphedema, a condition that can cause swelling in the arm after treatment.
Dr. Chang graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Johns Hopkins University and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed additional surgical and microsurgical training at respected institutions, including Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Stanford University and the University of Southern California. In addition to caring for patients, he has taught neuroscience and microsurgery for many years and has authored numerous publications.
