About Me

Jana Dickter, M.D., is an infectious disease specialist and associate clinical professor at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. She has more than a decade of experience caring for patients with complex infections and previously worked with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group.

Dr. Dickter earned her bachelor’s degree in cognitive sciences from the University of California, San Diego, and her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in infectious diseases through the UCLA Affiliated Program.

Board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, Dr. Dickter is also certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Most recently, she has led clinical trials focused on the responsible use of antibiotics in long-term care facilities and has shared her research at national conferences. Since 2005, has served as chair of the AIDS Advisory Committee, Kaiser Permanente Fontana and Ontario.
