Hematologist-Oncologist
Idoroenyi Amanam, M.D., is a hematologist-oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where he specializes in providing compassionate, personalized care for patients with leukemia and other blood cancers. Triple board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Amanam has expertise in offering hematopoietic stem cell therapies and is dedicated to improving outcomes for a wide range of hematologic malignancies.
Dr. Amanam earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, then completed his internal medicine residency at St. Mary Medical Center-UCLA in Los Angeles. During that time, he was recognized as both intern and resident of the year, and he served as chief resident. He then pursued a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the combined City of Hope/UCLA-Harbor program, where he was also named chief fellow, followed by a highly specialized fellowship in hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy at City of Hope Duarte, focusing on acute leukemias and other blood disorders.
Dr. Amanam speaks several languages, including English, Ibibio and Efik, and is the recipient of a U.S. Congressional Award for community service. He is proud to serve patients and their families to as they seek innovative treatment for blood cancers.
