About Me

Helen Chen, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist and assistant professor of radiation oncology, serving patients at City of Hope® South Pasadena. 

With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Chen has treated more than 10,000 patients, specializing in advanced, non-invasive radiation techniques such as stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy for brain and lung tumors, as well as RapidArc intensity-modulated radiation therapy. Her goal is to use leading-edge technologies to enable highly precise, efficient treatment that enhances both a patient’s comfort and their health outcomes. 

Dedicated to a person-first approach, Dr. Chen actively involves her patients in clinical trials addressing breast, prostate, head and neck cancers and brain metastases, helping to improve survival rates and quality of life. She takes great pride in leading a skilled, multidisciplinary team known for providing coordinated, compassionate and individualized cancer care.
