Hematologist-Oncologist
Haris Ali, M.D., serves as an associate professor in the Department of Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation’s Division of Leukemia at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where he is also section leader for the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Program. Dr. Ali joined the faculty after completing a specialized fellowship in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation at City of Hope.
Dr. Ali earned his medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan, then began his postgraduate training with an internal medicine internship at Harbor Hospital Center at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He then took on a residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California, where he advanced to chief resident and, later, served on the faculty for four years as an instructor and assistant professor of medicine.
Seeking further specialization, Dr. Ali pursued a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. During his training, he was recognized with first-place honors in both the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s and American Society of Hematology’s examinations in 2011 and 2012.
Board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Ali focuses on caring for patients with blood cancers and those undergoing bone marrow transplantation. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and remains committed to advancing the field through both clinical care and academic involvement.
