Cardiologist
Faizi A. Jamal, MD, is a cardiologist and the chief of the Division of Cardiology and Echocardiography Laboratory at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. Committed to supporting patients through their cancer journey with expert and personalized heart care, Dr. Jamal is guided by compassion and precision in his work with every patient and strives to offer leading-edge, empathetic care that is tailored to each person’s needs.
Before joining City of Hope, Dr. Jamal spent five years at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, and completed his residency and fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
At City of Hope, Dr. Jamal has led improvements in how doctors view and assess the heart using imaging technology. His research focuses on detecting heart damage related to cancer treatments as early as possible, employing the latest artificial intelligence tools to better measure the heart’s function and health.
Dr. Jamal has special expertise in heart disease and advanced heart imaging. He cares for patients with heart failure, including those with complex or rare conditions like cardiac amyloidosis. He also helps manage heart issues that can arise from newer cancer treatments, including certain immunotherapies.
