Ellie Maghami, M.D., is the chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where she leads a team dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care for patients facing complex head and neck cancers. Dr. Maghami is a nationally recognized expert in her field, and is committed to providing patients with access to the latest technologies, evidence-based treatments and supportive services for cancer.
With special expertise in cancers of the thyroid, salivary glands and upper airway (aerodigestive tract), Dr. Maghami offers minimally invasive surgical options using advanced laser and robotic techniques. Her goal is to achieve the best possible outcomes while prioritizing patients’ comfort, safety and quality of life. In her role as Norman and Sadie Lee Foundation Endowed Professor in Head and Neck Cancer, Dr. Maghami plays an active role in shaping national treatment guidelines in her field through her work with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network’s Head and Neck Cancers Guideline Committee.
A respected researcher, Dr. Maghami’s scholarly work focuses on robotic surgery innovations, understanding tumor biology through molecular profiling and combining immune therapies with surgery to enhance treatment outcomes. Dr. Maghami is committed to a compassionate approach to care that ensures every patient feels seen, supported and empowered throughout their cancer journey.
