About Me

Elaine Wheat Dawson, Psy.D., is a clinical health psychologist who cares for patients of all ages. At City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, she supports people facing a wide range of emotional and physical challenges, with special interest in helping individuals manage pain and improving access to support for adolescent and young adult patients.

Dr. Wheat Dawson earned her doctorate in psychology from the Azusa Pacific University Graduate School of Psychology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at City of Hope. She went on to serve as a consultant and contributed to several initiatives focused on adolescent and young adult care before joining the faculty full-time.

Her connection to City of Hope began years earlier, when she regularly donated platelets at the Blood Donor Center as a high school and college student. Today, she is proudly part of the Department of Supportive Care Medicine, working with a team of dedicated professionals committed to compassionate patient care.
