As a liver disease specialist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, Dupinder Singh, M.D., focuses on conditions like fatty liver disease and liver cancer. He chose this field because of the growing need for care in these areas. “Fatty liver disease is the most common liver disorder in the United States — and it’s on the rise given its link to diabetes and obesity,” he explains.
His goal is to bring patients the most advanced care available. “I believe City of Hope is the best place to help the sickest of the sick,” he says, “with its strong record in research and innovation.”
Originally from India, Dr. Singh earned his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi—India’s premier medical college—where he also spent a year as a primary care physician. He continued his training in the United States, completing residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, followed by a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He then completed an advanced fellowship in transplant hepatology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
