About Me

Divneet Mandair, MD, MS, is a Medical Oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Phoenix . Dr. Mandair’s clinical expertise is in diagnosing and treating genitourinary malignancies, with a particular focus on bladder and prostate cancers. He also has extensive experience in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) research, which he will continue to pursue at City of Hope, with the goal of incorporating the latest developments in the field into clinical practice.

After pursuing an undergraduate education in economics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by a master’s in management science and engineering at Stanford University in California, Dr. Mandair chose to attend medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona. He was drawn to clinical care, and oncology specifically, because it combined his interests in science, medicine and technology.

“The complexity of cancer, the close ties between clinical practice and scientific research and the abundance of research activity all were aspects of oncology I found incredibly appealing,” says Dr. Mandair. “But at its core, I chose oncology for the patients. I find this motivates me to continue to provide and develop leading-edge approaches to care.”

He went on to complete an internship in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Mandair is particularly excited about incorporating new therapies into his work with prostate cancer patients, including radioligand therapy and PARP inhibitors for those in high-risk, molecularly defined groups. His research agenda includes efforts to harness the potential of AI tools in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, with the goal of integrating these research findings into his work with patients.

A member of professional organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Dr. Mandair has served as a faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco, and has co-written multiple peer-reviewed publications on the potential diagnostic benefits of AI and large language models. Born in the United Kingdom, Dr. Mandair speaks English, as well as basic Punjabi and Spanish.

In his free time, he enjoys Olympic lifting training, listening to podcasts and traveling.

Patient reviews
The patient ratings and comments on this page are obtained from an external Press Ganey® outpatient survey provided to all eligible City of Hope patients within one to two weeks of their treatment occurrence. Raw data from the answers to the survey questions about our physicians are calculated by Press Ganey into a one- to five- star rating. In the spirit of transparency, all patient comments are posted as written by the patient, whether they are positive or negative. We only exclude comments if they are deemed to be slanderous or libelous, contain profanity or vulgar language, or do not relate to the patient's experience with the doctor involved. As a result, the comments are the views and opinions of the patients surveyed and are not endorsed by, and may not necessarily reflect the opinion of, City of Hope.
