About Me

Dechen Dolkar, MD, comes to City of Hope® with more than 25 years of experience in radiation oncology. Having spent most of her career at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California, Dr. Dolkar served for over a decade as medical director of radiation oncology, helping introduce numerous leading-edge technologies and approaches to treatment.

Skilled in a wide range of modern radiation therapies, including volumetric modulated arc therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy, partial breast irradiation and both image-guided and surface-guided radiotherapy, Dr. Dolkar is also experienced in using innovative therapeutic radiopharmaceutical options to manage a wide range of cancers.

Dr. Dolkar completed her radiation oncology residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, and her internal medicine internship at White Memorial Medical Center in the same city. She earned her medical degree at the University of Southern California (USC) and, prior to joining City of Hope, was an assistant clinical professor at USC’s Keck School of Medicine.
