David J. Weitz, MD, is a Diagnostic Radiologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Phoenix, where he collaborates with other specialists to ensure patients receive accurate, timely diagnoses and effective, personalized treatment for a wide range of cancer types.
With the goal of creating the best possible outcomes for his patients, Dr. Weitz brings expertise in a wide range of imaging and diagnostic radiology approaches to his clinical work, including ultrasound-guided and magnetic resonance biopsies. He is also highly experienced in breast cancer-related techniques such as preoperative breast localization, which can help guide breast cancer surgeons and improve surgery outcomes.
After earning his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Weitz completed a transitional year at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona, followed by a residency in radiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Weitz has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and is a member of professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
Outside of City of Hope, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
