At City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, Dara Ghasemizadeh, D.O., is a radiologist whose passion for medicine began long before medical school. He started out as a hospital volunteer and phlebotomist, experiences that deepened his commitment to patient care. While in medical school, he founded his university’s first radiology club and served as an anatomy lab instructor, mentoring fellow students.
Dr. Ghasemizadeh’s fascination with anatomy naturally led him to a career in radiological imaging, where he combines scientific precision with empathy and professionalism. He has been published in the journal Diagnostics, presented his research at a Pima County Medical Society meeting and volunteered in a medical laboratory in Tehran, Iran.
A Southern California native, Dr. Ghasemizadeh was drawn to City of Hope for its national reputation for excellence in cancer care and its patient-centered approach.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, biking, relaxing at the beach and spending time at his cabin in the Frazier Park Mountains.
