Claire Burton, MD, is a urogynecologist and reconstructive pelvic surgeon who brings compassion and expertise to every patient she treats. Inspired by her mother, also a surgeon, Dr. Burton has dedicated her career to helping people regain comfort and confidence through personalized pelvic health care.
She believes in listening first—taking the time to understand each patient’s goals before creating a treatment plan together. Her areas of expertise include urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction in both men and women, benign prostatic hyperplasia, bladder and uterovaginal prolapse, bladder neck obstruction, and urinary tract fistulas. She also treats conditions such as rectocele and urethral diverticulum, with a focus on both surgical and nonsurgical options for improving quality of life.
Dr. Burton joined City of Hope in 2023 as a physician-scientist, with more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications. Her research includes a notable study published in the American Journal of Medicine, which found that women with urinary incontinence may receive better care from female primary care doctors. During medical school at USC, she was recognized for academic excellence as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society chapter.
Outside of work, Dr. Burton enjoys time with her two young sons, running along the coast, hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains, and taking in the peace of the beach.
