Internal Medicine - Cook County Hospital

“The most important thing in caring for patients is caring about them,” says Christopher Stephenson, DO, Internist with Cancer Treatment Centers of America ® (CTCA), Chicago.

Christopher McCord Stephenson, DO, earned an osteopathic medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Core to his healing approach is osteopathy—the philosophy and practice of comprehensive medicine focused on the mind, physiologic structure and function of the body and spirit of the patient. He cares for those patients who need support to improve their quality of life during and after their oncologic care.

Dr. Stephenson completed his internship in osteopathic medicine and residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he attended to the medical needs of an underserved population. In 1999 he was honored by the hospital’s Department of Internal Medicine as Humanitarian of the Year. He completed his residency in 2000 and has worked as a physician with CTCA since that time.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
