Christina Haeyoung Yeon, MD, MHM, is a medical oncologist and hematologist and the regional director for City of Hope’s San Gabriel Valley locations.
Dr. Yeon has been caring for patients in Pasadena, California, since 2004, offering leading-edge treatment options for all types of adult cancers, as well as both non-cancerous and malignant blood disorders. She has a particular interest in breast cancer care. In her role as regional director for the San Gabriel Valley, Dr. Yeon oversees six locations and works closely with team members to ensure high-quality care across many specialties.
Beyond her clinical and leadership responsibilities, Dr. Yeon is actively involved in several committees at City of Hope. These include groups focused on physician well-being, compliance, retirement and other important areas. She has also been elected by her fellow doctors to serve on both the medical executive committee and the board of directors for the medical group.
Dr. Yeon moved to the United States from South Korea when she was five years old and grew up in Riverside, California. She completed most of her education at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and her medical degree there, then completing both her internal medicine residency and her fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the same institute.
Dr. Yeon has been part of the local community since 2005. She lives in La Crescenta, California, with her husband and their three children.
