Chandana “Sandy” Lall, MD, MBA, has built a distinguished career in the field of radiology over the course of nearly three decades and is widely recognized for advancing patient care and shaping the field of abdominal and pelvic oncologic imaging. Dr. Lall serves as a clinical professor and the chair of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte.
Dr. Lall joined City of Hope in 2023 after serving as chair and professor of radiology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. Before that, she was vice chair and professor of radiology and urology at the University of California, Irvine. Known for her compassionate leadership and collaborative style, she has driven quality improvement programs, operational strategies and workflow innovations that improved efficiency across City of Hope’s imaging services departments.
A physician-scholar, Dr. Lall’s academic work centers on oncologic imaging, with a particular interest in the role of MRI in accurate cancer staging, monitoring treatment response and detecting recurrence. Dr. Lall has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts and is a frequent speaker at national and international meetings.
A graduate of the University of Delhi, where she completed her medical degree and radiology residency, Dr. Lall went on to finish additional residency training at Maimonides Medical Center and a fellowship in abdominal imaging at Beth Israel Medical Center, both in New York City. In 2016, she earned her MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.
