About Me

Badri Modi, M.D., is an associate clinical professor of dermatology at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte. 

Dr. Modi is an expert in skin health, which plays an important role in the treatment plans for many cancer patients. He is dedicated to helping people manage skin-related health issues during their cancer journeys, and he specializes in detecting and treating high-risk skin cancers like melanoma. He is also an expert in providing leading-edge care for patients who experience skin health side effects related to cancer treatments such as chemotherapy for leukemia or breast cancer. 

Dr. Modi earned his medical degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, then went on to complete an internal medicine internship at Massachusetts General Hospital. He trained in dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he was also named chief resident. He has authored many research papers on topics related to cancer care and dermatology. 

What drives Dr. Modi most is making a difference in lives of patients facing complex cancers and their side effects.

He is a skilled surgeon as he has performed multiple surgeries for my multiple skin cancers, and I am so impressed with how skilled he is. He is so meticulous and detail oriented and all of my surgeries that he has performed have healed beautifully with minimal scarring. I have had numerous surgeries and have had my share of dermatologists in my life, but I rank Dr. Modi as one of the top doctors as he is so down to earth, kind, empathetic, caring, and truly is a fun and nice person! "I told the doctor that I get checked every 4 months and I mentioned certain spots on my body but he disregarded all of them..I have dry skin behind my left ear . He didn't give me anything for it."

"Originally, I was there to receive a biopsy on my leg. Before he began, I suggested to take the entire mass out right then, so I do not have to come back. Since it was right at the surface of my skin, and the doctor agreed and did so. He had seen this kind of mass many times, and said it was about 99% benign, and it was."
