Andrew Nguyen, M.D., is a surgical oncologist at City of Hope® South Bay, where he works closely with patients with a range of cancers, including melanoma, sarcoma and gastrointestinal tumors. He is committed to treating his patients with compassion and provide them with a highly personalized care plan that is right for them.
Dr. Nguyen earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to complete medical school at New York University School of Medicine before pursuing surgical training at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. His fellowship in complex surgical oncology took place at City of Hope.
Dr. Nguyen’s research background includes work in dendritic cell biology and investigating microRNA-regulated pathways in pancreatic cancer. He was the recipient of the UCLA-CURE NIH T32 Training Grant and the Gerald S. Levey Surgical Research Award in recognition of his research contributions.
